世界上最“歪”建筑在哪？答案惊掉你的下巴……

Capital Gate, also known as the Leaning Tower of Abu Dhabi, is a skyscraper in the emirate that is more than 160 meters tall, 35 stories high, and with more than 16,000 square meters of office space. It is one of the tallest buildings in the city and was designed to incline 18 degrees west.

Calling the Capital Gate a skyscraper does not quite capture its true essence. The brief given to the engineers and architects was not to make the biggest or tallest building around, but to “challenge the rules of architecture and to build a structure that would put Abu Dhabi on the world map”, says Ahmed Al Mansoori, a lead engineer for Capital Gate and director of engineering for the company Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions.

The United Arab Emirates ranks third equal internationally for the place with the most number of skyscrapers, sharing that spot with Japan, both having 251 buildings taller than 150 meters.

The number one spot is held by China with 2,055 buildings taller than 150 meters, followed by the US with more than 800.

According to skyscraper.com, the tallest buildings in the UAE after Burj Khalifa are: Marina 101 at 425m, Princess Tower at 413.4m, 23 Marina at 392.4m, and Burj Mohammed Bin Rashid in Abu Dhabi at 381.2m.

The UAE has a first-class infrastructure and business environment. According to the World Business Environment Report 2020 published by the World Bank, the UAE is ranked 16th in the world, leading the Arab world for seven consecutive years, and most of the Fortune 500 companies have set up offices there, making the UAE the preferred location for the regional headquarters of multinational companies.

Tourism has played a large part in the success of the UAE’s economic diversification. Its world-class airlines, including Etihad and Emirates, as well as constant upgrading of aviation infrastructure, have played a major role in the advance of the tourism industry and are key contributors to the economy.

▍繁荣的港口贸易

利用霍尔木兹海峡咽喉地带、辐射亚非欧三大洲广袤市场的优越地理位置，阿联酋积极开展港口建设，发展自由区和转口贸易，杰贝阿里港吞吐量连续多年世界排名前十，近年来哈利法港也跻身世界百强，阿联酋成为中东最重要的海运和贸易中心。

The UAE, making the most of its great location in the throat of the Strait of Hormuz and the vast market radiating from Asia, Africa, and Europe, has been carrying out port construction and developing free zones and entrepot trade, with the port of Jebel Ali ranking among the top 10 in the world in terms of throughput for many years, and the port of Khalifa ranking among the world’s top 100 in recent years. This has shaped the UAE as the most important maritime transport and trade center in the Middle East.

阿联酋加入“一带一路”倡议在本国内也得到了广泛支持。

阿联酋副总统兼总理、迪拜酋长穆罕默德·阿勒马克图姆表示：“今天，我们与中国的关系堪称典范，中国领导人将阿联酋视为本地区的主要战略伙伴。”

The Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum said: “Today we have exemplary relations with China and a Chinese leadership that sees the UAE as the main strategic partner in the region.”
