中国游客免签！泰国总理亲自机场迎接

据报道，泰国总理赛塔·他威信9月25日赴曼谷素万纳普国际机场，迎接自泰国对中国游客实行免签制度后抵达的第一批中国游客。

Thai Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin welcomed Chinese visitors at the Suvarnabhumi International Airport in Bangkok on Monday to mark the first day of the government's visa-free program for Chinese tourists.

9月25日早上10时15分，搭乘亚洲航空XJ761航班的近100位中国游客，从上海飞抵泰国曼谷，受到了当地热情迎接。他们将进行美丽的泰国之旅。该批游客是自泰国对中国游客实行免签制度后抵达的第一批中国游客。

曼谷素万纳普国际机场举办了隆重、热情的欢迎仪式，游客还获赠茉莉花环、大象图案裤子等在泰国备受欢迎的纪念品。

A billboard welcoming visitors and cultural performances were part of the ceremony. Tourists were also presented with jasmine garlands and elephant-patterned pants — popular souvenirs in Thailand.

9月13日，泰国内阁会议做出决议，泰国将从本月25日起至2024年2月29日对中国游客实行免签制度，为期约5个月。该时段覆盖了泰中两国的旅游旺季，希望能够吸引更多中国游客赴泰国旅游，促进泰国经济发展。

On September 13, Thailand's Cabinet approved a visa-free period for Chinese tourists from September 25th, 2023, to February 29, 2024, spanning approximately five months. This initiative aligns with peak tourism seasons in both countries and aims to stimulate Thailand's economy by attracting more Chinese visitors.

赛塔·他威信表示，旅游业是泰国经济的重要引擎，虽然去年泰国旅游业有所增长，但仍未恢复至新冠疫情前水平。今年泰国计划吸引2800万外国游客，实现2.4万亿泰铢（约合671.7亿美元）旅游收入。2024年，泰政府将促使旅游业全面恢复至疫情前水平，吸引4000万外国游客。

"The government has identified tourism as a key driver for revenue generation and job creation to relieve the economy," Srettha said at a news conference after the ceremony. "This visa-free program will help to boost the country's economy."

旅游业是泰国支柱产业之一，2019年来自外国游客的收入占泰国GDP的12%，在当年入境泰国3980万人次的外国游客中，中国游客近1100万人次，成为泰国旅游市场最大客源。疫情给泰国旅游业造成巨大冲击，从政府机构到私营企业，泰国上下都热切期盼中国游客的回归，为旅游业和经济复苏增添动力。

关于游客担心的安全问题，泰国旅游局局长表示：“我们一直把游客的安全放在首位，并已为迎接更多游客做好了充分准备。我们希望这个计划能够让泰国成为更多中国的家庭、旅行团和自由行游客的首选旅行目的地。”

"We always prioritize travelers' safety and have been well-prepared for welcoming more tourists. We hope the program will make Chinese families, tour groups, and individual travelers to choose Thailand as their preferred destination". said Thapanee Kiatphaibool, governor of the Tourism Authority of Thailand.

泰国国家警察总署、国家旅游局等机构为中国游客提供及时、周到的服务，每个部门都已经做好充分准备。
