生活琐记：又一个愉悦的秋季周末

10/7星期六傍晚，感谢好友赠票，我们夫妇俩驱车前往城里参加了芝加哥亚洲电影节的闭幕式，观看了韩国参展的一部喜剧片《Killing Romance》。此影片风格虽然不属于我俩喜欢的类型，但了解到一些韩国电影的近况、见到了获奖男主角（也是奥斯卡获奖片《寄生虫》的主演之一）及影片的主创人员，并且在现场喜逢多位本地热爱影视艺术的老朋友，实为一段欢欣时光。对电影的内容和表现手法既然非我所爱，在此也就不妄加评论了。存几张随拍为记。

CHICAGO – Fall film festivals begin with Season 17 of the Asian Pop-Up Cinema, crated by Executive Director/Founder Sophia Wong Boccio. Opening Night is Friday, September 8th, with the Japanese film “Yudo,” subtitled “The Way of the Bath,” directed by Masayuki Suzuki.

The Asian Pop-Up Cinema (APUC) will take place in Chicago between September 8th and October 7th, 2023, and for the first time will include film selections from Mongolia, Iran and Afghanistan, along with entries from Japan, Hong Kong, South Korea, China and more. According to Sophia Wong Boccio, “Through the lenses of this season’s diversified filmmakers we are presenting a broad spectrum of films that are relevant and entertaining.”

This season’s special guests appearing on behalf of their films include Amarsaikhan Baljinnyham, Ben Yuen, Dornaz Hajiha, Lawrence Kan, Lee Won Suk, Ng Siu Hin, Park Dong-Hee, Rachel Leung, Roya Sadat and Wong You Nam. South Korean actor Lee Sun-Kyun (“Parasite”) will be APUC’s Excellent Achievement in Film Award recipient and will receive his award before the feature presentation of the Closing Night film “Killing Romance.”

Season 17 screenings will take place primarily at the AMC New City 14 in the Clybourn corridor neighborhood, along with a special China showcase at the Illinois Institute of Technology and the Chicago Cultural Center in collaboration with the Asian Mid-Autumn Festival (September 30th and October 1st).
