A concept first floated in the 1985 movie Back to the Future 回到未来 is now a reality.
In the movie, Marty McFly, played by Michael J. Fox, wore athletic shoes that laced automatically, and this week, shoe manufacturer Nike announced it had made just such a shoe.
It’s called HyperAdapt 1.0, and according to Nike, when you put it on, your heel脚后跟 activates激活 a sensor传感器 that will automatically tighten the laces自动系紧鞋. Two buttons on the side of the shoe allow the wearer to either loosen or tighten the lacing.
Nike says the technology has been in development for a number of years, but was based on the design of another shoe called Nike MAG.
The new shoe is expected to be released in time for the holidays and will come in three colors.
The designer, Tinker Hatfield, told CNNthat the purpose of the shoe is to give athletes greater flexibility to quickly adjust the tightness of laces.
"That's an important step because feet undergo an incredible amount of stress during competition," he said in a statement.
