Visualization Lab (Full time position): Systems Technician Position Summary As part of the Visualization Systems Team the Systems Technician is responsible for the maintenance, support and installation for all of the IT, AV and VR hardware within the KAUST Visualization Laboratory http://kvl.kaust.edu.sa/Pages/Home.aspx). The System Techniciain will participate in the design and definition of future developments for the laboratory installations, as well as provide feedback on concept designs regarding new research facilities being deployed for KVL projects. When required, the candidate might need to travel to assist in the installation of particular equipment for events where the laboratory is involved in. Major Responsibilities • Maintenance, support and installation of a wide variety of hardware in the Lab, including but not limited to full PC maintenance and installation, projector installation, display installation, minor structural work (not civil work) to support A/V equipment, equipment cabling, etc. • Attending to systems tickets filed by the laboratory staff when systems fail. • Diagnosis and repair of failed equipment and/or coordinating ordering of required replacement parts. • Help in the organization and stock of store rooms for laboratory consumables.
