大家好，我在美国做j1 visa的postdoc，我的fellowship是美国的一个机构发的。现在
我是resident alien，所以该机构没有任何withholding或者reporting。我需要报税
吗？是不是相当于普通的收入，要比通常的14% fellowship flat rate要高？不报税
会有什么后果？
有谁遇到过类似问题，能否帮忙解答一下

Report as if your fellowship is your wage, and use the form (I forgot the
title) sent from your fellowship agency as W-2. You may still get some
refund from IRS if you are the only bread earner in your family.

我的情况给你一样，刚好2010属于resident alien (partial)
box1 and 3 都是0.
想自己用turboTax报，不是到底在wage那项填什么？

不是有中国的treaty有saving clause的一说吗？中国的j1和F1成了resident alien 还
可以继续claim exemption？
