We tried it once recently for a Nature sister journal, and it worked for us. The paper was sent out for review to three reviewers, and then resubmission , revision, etc etc. My impression is that every step of the double-blind review is identical to the typical process, with the only exception that the reviewers should not know your names. Our experience is a small sample size (of 1!). I suppose there is nothing to lose to try.
Thanks for sharing. Was it slower? It might be harder for the editor to find reviewers who are willing to do double blind.
