I just did a favor to a professor in China to accept her as a visiting
scholar in my department. The department
chair helped with this because of my request. During her application, the
chair has to fill some forms for, so
she has some contacts with the chair. During this period, the chair said if
we should stop her application. I still
want to help "tong bao" and said to the chair we should work on. One day,
this lady asked me about the chair's
research background, which she would send to the government to support her
application. I was so shocked.
By the way, she did not keep updating me about her
application until HR sent me the
approval. Now she is coming and keeping asking me about the rent or living
things in this area. Do I need to
continue to help her when she arrives.

替一国内朋友问，国内硕士毕业，申到了这边的Biomedical Engineering的PHD，从事
什么人体干细胞的方向，具体我也说不清，我自己不是搞这行的。看到网上很多人讨论
生物，但是不知道生物的情况是不是也适用于这个“生物医药工程”。有懂行的请大体
说一下工作形势。谢谢了。因为朋友的家人也在国内安排了工作，所以他很犹豫，该选
哪个。

佛祖和佟湘玉她爹是有点穿越。。。
记得有一段时间哪哪都是吴秀波，然后我爸爸妈妈为此都吵架啦，一个说他死啦，怎么
又出来啊，另一个说没有，他这是换了名字装黑社会呢！！！然后都急了。。。
其实说的是两部电视萨~~~~ 一个是兄弟门一个是黎明前啊。。。。

My advisor helped me to come to US. So I finished my Ph.D. by working with
my advisor. Even I really wanted
to transfer to another university during ph.D. study, I did not.

BME做啥的都有，有做工程的也做纯生物的.每个方向就业前景都不一样.得看他的具体
的方向才行.让他向他们系和他同方向的老生打听比较靠谱.

也看，有的方向找工作也不差，楼主说的方向够呛。而且我听说美国开BME专业的学校
不多，所以30多名估计不咋的。

这种visiting professor一般是谁帮忙接受，就到谁lab去工作。楼主接收了她，在做
paperwork的过程中，她又开始联系其他lab了。
就像phd申请的时候，套上一个PI，让人帮你搞定admission，然后来了以后立刻一脚踢
开去傍更大的大牛一个道理。

我是BME的，我来说吧。
国内号称---生物医学电子专业，清华，两个交大，东南等学校有。美国这边生物医学
电子只是生物医学工程系的一部份，还有做力学，生物的，只要跟医学相关，当然各
个学校的侧重点各有不同，好些BME系的成立都是从工学院内的ME, EE系,医学院的生
理,生物物理系拉人。所以，生物医学电子方向，好找工业界的工作，类似EE系；生物
的好找薄厚工作；力学的，都难。
当然，牛人衰人都例外。

没看出为什么你要shock，当然她其实可以从网上找找介绍，自己写一个
而用不着来烦你们
至于后面的东西，第一次来的人问问，挺正常，你不想管，直接让她联系cssa好了
另外，这么别扭的英文下次还是改中文写吧

借人气同问∶我也在BME系，准备跟一个老板做医学图像处理，主要是MRI图像的后期图像分割。
还有一个选择也是做MRI的，但是偏硬件，是对MRI技
术扫描参数的优化啥的
这两个老板怎么\样？哪个更好些？

mri，最好的应该是做sequence programming之内的东西。图像处理应该不如成像来得
更有前途，因为图像处理谁都能做，你做mri的图像处理没有比别人做其他图像处理高
明多少。做成像，就不是大家都能做的了。

lz连学生都没有，有lab吗？
估计来了也就是需要安排个办公室而已
这样的专业跟谁合作，就看是否谈得来有没有讨论而已

不过扫描参数的优化听起来也没有很难。不懂，哈哈
俺觉得未来N年中国在医疗仪器上砸的钱还得造出一大堆富豪，具体学啥看兴趣就行了
，重要的是想办法
掺和掺和扩建的这些医院和项目
