Situated in Southern California, Zymo Research Corporation is a privately

We are seeking a highly-motivated and proactive individual to join our R&D
team as a Research Associate. Working side by side with some of the most
talented people in biotechnology, the successful applicant will participate
in semi-independent product research efforts targeted at driving either the
development of novel, cutting-edge technology or improvements to products
currently in our portfolio.
Interested candidates should have an MS or BS in Bioinformatics, Molecular
Biology, Cell Biology, Genetics, Biochemistry, or a related discipline.
Qualified applicants must have a good understanding of bioinformatics,
molecular and cell biology and should also have a solid knowledge of DNA
cloning and sequencing, PCR and RT-PCR, isolation of high-molecular weight
genomic DNA from various organisms (e.g. mammals, plants, fungi, bacteria),
construction of genomic libraries.
A deep-understanding of major next-generation sequencing platforms, software
packages used in next generation sequencing data analysis and visualization
, and public genomic databases are important for success in this position.
Candidates with programming experience such as R, perl and Pathon will be
strongly preferred.
Familiarity with statistics and high-throughput data analysis and Linux/Unix
operation systems are a plus.
Excellent organization and communication skills, both oral and written, are
required as are strong analytical skills and attention to detail. .
Salary is competitive and commensurate on experience. Additionally, we offer
a generous bonus plan and a complete medical/dental and vision package.
