对他自己作用很有限；但对现在和将来的癌症病人或许就有很大的帮助。
如果他当时测序找到了一些常见的有药物可以治疗的突变，那他的生命就又可能被延长
很多了。

测序癌细胞倒没错，错在他的偏执。通过CT查出癌细胞后8个月里，因为他的think different的偏执，拒绝正常治疗，错失治愈的机会。
好奇是不是genetech的主席Art Levinson出的主意测序他的癌细胞？这个序列对他个人
的治疗的确没有太大的实际性意义吧，对做研究倒有那么一点。

他出钱测序的可能性还是很小吧，不过也不贵，才一万。
问题是他乐意公布这一类隐私，才可贵。

另外胰腺癌难道不是很猛的一种癌症吗？怎么可以治愈啊

这个报道太坑爹了，所有的基因，估计是exonome了，还20个人，光肺癌就已经测了
2500个人了。就算whole genome都已经上千tumor/normal pair了。

可能是 2007 年时测的，那时还要 100K, 而且 solexa 还没成熟，
估计是用 454 硬干的。不贵也难。

改变基因组顺序对成人来得急吗？还是只能培养替代部件？或改善下一代？

测的是somatic mutation，就是找癌细胞特有的突变，然后根据突变的pathway找靶向
治疗的药物
