It should be counted if you still work in same field.

You need to provide evidence that you were full time working on certain
research project that is in the similar field as you claim in your petition.
And it would greatly help if you can further prove that you were the lead
researcher in those projects. Evidences in this regard include an affidavit
letter from your advisor, department head, endorsement letter from project
sponsors, project contract (superb if it shows your name), publications
related to those research...

How to prove? Ask the department secretary to provide a proof that I was a
RA during that period?
