Job Title: Postdoctoral Research Associate at the Renal Division, Department
of Medicine, Washington University in St. Louis
Location: Medical School

Essential Functions:
An opportunity is available immediately for a Postdoctoral Research
Associate position at the Renal Division, Department of Medicine. The main
focus of the ongoing research is to understand the molecular mechanisms of
the glomerular filtration barrier and proteinuria. We are very interested in
studying the crosstalk between endothelial cells and podocytes in the
pathogenesis of glomerular diseases. Other areas of interest include
endoplasmic reticulum stress in the proteinuric kidney disease. We are using
cutting edge research approaches including mammalian cell culture,
molecular and cell biology, biochemistry, transgenic and knock out animal
models, and state-of-art in vitro & in vivo imaging techniques.
Required Qualifications:
A Ph.D. or M.D./Ph.D. degree in genetics, cell biology, molecular biology,
biochemistry or other related fields is required. Candidates who have
experience in generating and analyzing transgenic or knockout mice, or
strong background in renal research are highly preferred. If you are a U.S
citizen or permanent resident and your postdoctoral training is less than 5
years, you may be eligible for NIH Ruth L. Kirschstein National Research
Service Award (NRSA) T32 postdoctoral training grant.
