索要纸版期刊，这本杂志一般并不印刷。

“广大熬论文的理工PhD（注：博士研究生）们，你们的福音来啦！现在有一份名
叫Nature and Science的期刊，没错，不是Nature，也不同于Science。可是只要在这
上面发篇文章，就能往简历里写上：paper published on nature and science（注：
在自然和科学上发表过文章）！心动不如行动，你还犹豫什么？哈哈……”
这可不是笑话。2005年，一位自称旅居美国的北京航空航天大学的“老校友”在“
北航新闻网”上发文，表示可以帮助“愿在美国Nature and Science上发表英文文章的
新老校友”代转论文。
经过中国青年报记者的调查，这本杂志除了名称相似之外，和大名鼎鼎的《自然》
（Nature）和《科学》（Science）毫无关系。事实上，它只是一本由旅居美国的华人
所创办的，目前没有太多学术影响力的英文期刊。
2011年8月5日，身在美国纽约的杂志主编马宏宝接受了中国青年报记者的专访。提
及难免让人想入非非的杂志名称，马宏宝颇为得意地说：“自然和科学是天底下最好的
词了，自然就是自然世界，科学是一种人类活动，这两件事是全世界人最感兴趣也最重
要的东西。这么好听的名字，既然现在还没有别人用，那我们就注册这个。不管本身能
够办到什么程度，至少使用的这个名字是最好的。”
只要是认真做科研，符合科技论文格式要求，不管水平好坏，都可以发表
2003年，马宏宝发起创立了马斯兰德出版社（Marsland Press）以及旗下的期刊
Nature and Science。他介绍说，这个出版社是一家“有美国刊号、在美国纽约工商登
记注册过、每年向美国政府纳税”的私人出版公司。
他这样解释自己的初衷：“有些科研工作者，工作半辈子做出的研究成果，因为不
是改变世界观的大发现，所以不能够以科技论文的形式公布出来，这本身是不公平的。
为什么只有大科学家、有大把科研经费的人才能向世界公布他的想法？我们希望通过科
技论文的发表，来给人们一个舞台，让他们可以公布自己的研究结果。”
或许因此，这本名字听起来很像两本顶级期刊的合体――英国的《自然》和美国的
《科学》――的杂志，对稿件要求是“只要是认真做科研，符合科技论文格式要求，不
管水平好坏，都可以发表”。
相比之下，《自然》和《科学》只接受“具有重大科学意义的科技论文”。这两本
收录在科学引文索引（SCI）中的期刊，影响因子都在30以上，以学术顶尖著称全球。
Nature and Science的学术指标就没那么耀眼了。它既没有被SCI收录，也没有影
响因子，更难找到印刷版本。据马宏宝说，除了寄送一本给美国国家图书馆收藏，或者
发稿人索要纸版期刊，这本杂志一般并不印刷。
据“老校友”称，身为北京大学生物学系博士毕业生的马主编，平时在美国一家医
学机构担任研究员，下班后负责运营整个出版社及其旗下期刊。
创刊初期，Nature and Science还是季刊。随着投稿量的增大，从2009年开始，它
改为月刊，每期刊载15篇左右的文章。
马斯兰德旗下的期刊群也不断壮大为9本。除了“理工科熬论文的福音”，出版社
还“贴心”地为其他学科研究者带来“福音”――比如名为Stem Cell的英文期刊，这
个名字和世界顶级医学期刊《细胞》（Cell）旗下的子刊《细胞干细胞》（Cell Stem
Cell）极其相似；还有名字颇显本土气息的《美国科学通讯》（Journal of American
Science）和《纽约科学通讯》（New York Science Journal）等等；至于英语欠佳者
，可以选择接受中英文论文、博客文章、小说等各种题材的《学术争鸣》（Academia
Arena）。
其中，Nature and Science的内容可谓无所不包：既有纯粹介绍现有研究成果而无
新见解的论文，又有和主流观点有出入的文章，更有令人眼界大开的故事。在2009年第
11期上，长期致力于永动机发明的孙纯武发表了英文论文《创立统一场论》（
Establishment of the Unified Field Theory）。他在致谢中说，自己并不通晓英语
，全文由一位南京大学英语专业的研究生翻译。
在2011年5月份的期刊中，署名为Soleilmavis Liu的作者发表了题为《大陆的四个
角》（The Ends of the Earth）的文章。文章仔细论证了《圣经》中多次提到的“地
极”（地极又叫地球的四个角，原文作者注），分别是位于中国山东威海的东极、位于
北美的西极、位于澳大利亚和新西兰的南极以及位于北极圈附近的北极。
论文发布后可以继续修改
马宏宝解释说，杂志对发稿最为重要的一个要求是使用严格的论文格式撰写。他信
心满满地打包票说：“所有发表的论文都是格式完整且正确的科技论文，有标题、摘要
、通讯作者邮箱、正文和参考文献等等，语法也没有大问题。”
对其他学术期刊来说，这是不必特意强调的最起码的要求。《自然》杂志列出的论
文格式要求，密密麻麻地写满了两页A4纸。不过，真正决定论文能否发表的标准是“从
未发表过的研究结果”、“拥有超凡的科学意义”和“满足跨学科研究的共同利益”。
相比之下，马宏宝承认，在Nature and Science上发表的论文，“包括研究项目的
设计、研究方法、研究结论到底有多大的意义，编辑都没有办法保证”。他的理由是“
每个月都有好几百篇投稿文章，要每一篇文章都严格控制，从人力、物力和资金上都是
不可行的”。
据那位“老校友”介绍，马斯兰德出版社大约有9名编辑，但大多是兼职，每天在
家收发邮件、审校论文。马宏宝还补充道，出版社在纽约、密歇根、台湾以及陕西、黑
龙江、河南、湖北、广东都有“帮忙的人”，他们的任务是帮忙审稿、校对和排版。
以审稿环节为例，马宏宝表示大部分时候并不知道审稿人是谁，但他却保证审稿人
一定是对这个领域颇为熟悉的大学教授、博士生或者硕士生。有时候，他甚至需要投稿
人来提供审稿人。
同时，他也不能保证审稿后的稿件是否合格。对于抄袭现象，这本杂志的独门法宝
是提前两个月把文章发布到网上，欢迎举报，“这招比编辑把关有效多了”。
这些做法并不存在于《自然》和《科学》的择稿操作中。这两家杂志在接受中国青
年报采访时各自阐述了严格而规范的择稿、审稿、定稿流程。以《自然》为例，为了保
证公正，免于科学上或者国别上的偏见，《自然》不聘请资深科学家做编委会，也不附
属于任何科学组织或者社会机构。最终决定权在于编辑，而非审稿人手中。
由于要求高，这两本期刊的稿件通过率只有8%左右。一旦被拒稿，这两家都不建议
继续投稿。
相比之下，Nature and Science十分“贴心”，不仅审稿期间可以改稿，在稿件正
式发布后还可以继续改。那位老校友所发表的稿件就是“经过重大修改后发表”的，而
“编辑和审稿人根本不会给你提什么意见，你自己哪天想起来了，想改哪里改哪里”。
独具特色的选稿标准和贴心服务让Nature and Science十分抢手。在这本杂志中，
同一期出现多篇文章共用同一个通讯作者邮箱的情况也比比皆是，因为文章都是来自同
一个研究机构，比如埃及国家研究中心。
在这家机构工作的艾哈迈德女士告诉中国青年报记者，埃及的体制要求晋升必须发
论文，而Nature and Science就像“及时雨”，“发论文很容易，速度也很快，收费也
不算太高，30、50、70美元各种价位的都有。最重要的是，对晋升很管用。”
来自加纳的劳伦斯・阿比，则用含糊不清的英语向中国青年报记者抱怨“发
稿很困难，总要改格式，改语法”。经过重重“严格要求”，他终于在2010年第9期上
发表了文章《论山药代替土豆作为冷冻炸薯条材料的应用》。
“每个月每本期刊会收到几百篇甚至上千篇投稿，最后刊出也就那么十几二十篇，
我们的拒稿率也挺高的，怎么也得70%～80%吧。”马宏宝表示，“我们是一本没有水分
的期刊。”
要做比《自然》和《科学》加一块儿还好的期刊
马宏宝解释说，这本杂志几乎没有任何宣传，投稿者大多数通过网络搜索或是朋友
介绍。或许因此，你会轻易发现在这本2003年创刊的杂志，有时候一期期刊里多半的文
章是来自埃及、伊朗、印度、利比亚、加纳等国家的来稿。
对此，这位主编并不感到奇怪，“因为编辑好多都是埃及人、伊朗人、印度人”。
只怕他还不知道文章开头提到的那则 “学术笑话”为Nature and Science在中国
打下的知名度。“在段子里听说过啊，一本名字特山寨的期刊，那个笑话挺有名的。”
数位博士研究生表示。
哈尔滨工业大学物理系教授吕喆对中国青年报记者说，他听说一位在Nature and
Science上发表了文章的学生，被导师勒令将简历中的这一项删去，因为这实在太容易
产生误会。
“我觉得这个杂志这样给自己起名字，实在是一种恶搞。不明就里的人会认为杂志
很牛，把这件事情看得很重，但实际上它只是一本名不见经传的杂志而已。”吕喆说。
《自然》和《科学》都对这本杂志一头雾水。《科学》杂志对中国青年报说：“只
能说，它看上去是一本合法的期刊。”
对于投稿人“为了评职称、拿学位发稿”的现象，马宏宝表示“无所谓”。他说自
己最大的想法是要“赋予人们公开科研成果的舞台，为科研界添砖加瓦”。
这位华人也始终不忘自己的祖国：“既然这本杂志有这么好听的名字，我还真的希
望能把这本杂志真的办成全世界最好的杂志，比《自然》和《科学》中的任何一本都要
好，比它们俩加在一起还要好。因为中国整体力量很好，中国应该有一本全世界最有名
的杂志，如果我们真的有好文章，如果我们真的认真去做。”
按说，发表论文会收版面费。但老校友说，主编是中国人，所以只要与科研项目经
费无关，对中国投稿人会优惠，“跟主编好好说说，说不定还能给你免费呢！”

ADIT=Alien Documentation Identification & Telecommunication Systems.
Could mean biometrics not up to date or just stamp in passport.
Either way they will tell you what they want.
ADIT (I-551) stamping
Applicant appears at local USCIS for ADIT processing, as outlined in AOS
approval letter. Applicant will not be scheduled for an ADIT appointment,
ADIT processing is done by "walk-in" basis ONLY.
