Not very reasonable in NYC. After tax, you may pay half that for rent. and
there is no health insurance.....

the bio people in NYC I know:
postdoc: 40000-50000
McKinsey/BCG: 100000-200000
trader in hedge fund: 100000-500000
equity analyst in large bank or hedge fund: 100000-200000
quant/developer in large bank and hedge fund: 100000-300000
the range depends on level and performance...well, most of them are still
entry to 2 years experiences..

NYC牛人太多。。前阵子认识一个某著名华人女科学家实验室出来的学生，发过CNS的,(
不是副刊), 什么卡都有了，fresh PhD graduate，毕业直接去华尔街某黑老大的
trading desk...年入若干0...
我非常惭愧, 人生荒废了, 不能比，不能比。。

其实不读PhD的话，根本都不算转行。。
