We are seeking a Research Scientist, preferably with a strong background

Job Responsibilities
As a Research Scientist, your primary responsibility is to perform original
research in order to develop marketable products. Special emphasis will be
placed on automated protein (antibody) purification, which will involve
working with GE AKTA and Unicorn software. You will also be tasked with
supporting a variety of projects within our R&D division, and will manage
your workload with minimal supervision.
Your specific duties for this role will include:
· Completing departmental research activities, and performing and
accurately recording results and including serological, immunological and
microbiological assays (such as hemagglutination, solid phase and ELISA
assays)
· Operating and maintaining a range of different department
equipment, which may include automated assay equipment, computers, printers,
electronic balances, pH meters, microplate washers, centrifuges, pipettes
and microscopes
· Storing, inventorying, and ordering department supplies and
chemicals and preparing chemical solutions according to department
procedures, specifications, or supervisory instructions
· Identifying and troubleshooting incorrect performance of
department equipment and performing equipment maintenance and applicable
calibration of department equipment.
· Understanding source of products, applicable Material Safety Data
Sheets (MSDS) and following OSHA safety regulations associated with
handling chemical and biosafety hazards including blood borne pathogens in
accordance with company and department procedures
· Complying with FDA regulations and ISO standards applicable to
department operations and understanding the consequences of noncompliance
and nonconformance
· Meeting achievement levels established for competency evaluations
, as applicable
· Maintaining a neat, clean and orderly work environment
Job Requirements
As a Research Scientist, you must also be very detail-oriented and organized
, with excellent time-management and multitasking skills. You should also
have outstanding analytic and problem-solving abilities. It is also
important that you display excellent verbal and written communication,
interpersonal and presentation skills, as well as the ability to interact
tactfully and effectively with employees at all levels of the organizational
structure.
Specific qualifications for the role include:
· Bachelor’s degree in related field required; Master’s degree
preferred
