management consulting 方向(不是 IT consulting)。

Companies will send reps to campus to show you how to do case interview. If
Bain, MCK or BCG recruits in your school, keep an eye out for their
receptions. Dont be shy about going to info session for undergrads because
the rep will teach valuable skills that will help you understand their
expectations in case interview.
Bearing Point and DT also has management consulting practices, easier to get
in but they favor engineering backgrounds, you can try shoot for them as
well.

dinerly, thanks a lot for the advice!
When MCK, BCG and Bain come to school, I will definitely try to get best out
of those opportunities.
There is no undergrad program in the school. But the career service people
said they will help MBA students on interview processes. I am not familiar
with their career services yet, but will try to find out more. Also hope
to learn from people here on how to make use of these services.
I have found Bearing Point, but who is DT? I saw Bearing Point does bo

*)考证书会对求职有帮助吗?如 CFA, CPA,and etc...
=> Useless.
*)看了一些 MC 公司的 interview process,好像基本上都是 case question,怎样
=> Practice, practice, practice.
*)学校里的 career service 说给 executive student 提供 same service as full
time students。
=> Pretty useless when it comes to management consulting. Your school's
consulting club, if you have one, will be a lot more helpful.

jazzcat, many, many thanks for the advices!!
Sounds like the main focus should be case oriented trainings, such as: clubs
, curriculum for case studies, and more case practices. Not having to take
those certificate exams could definitely help saving time for practices.
What's your view about other ares of focus or soft skills on getting a MC
job? It seems like breadth of reading (to get to know more about various
industries and operation structure) would definitely help. Any industries
or ope

=> consulting case interviews are different from case-based classes in
business schools. i wouldn't choose my classes because of that.

=> leadership, drive/achievement, ability to influence others.

really helpful notes. Is there anybody who can share me with MC case study

Here is the book I always recommend to others: Crack the Case, written by a
former Bain consultant.
Different firms have very different case interviewing styles. Bain's is very
quantitative and they use a lot of slides. You can almost gauge how well
you are doing by counting the # of slides you are getting from your
interviewer. McKinsey's is very structured and boring, and surprisingly
easier to crack than others.

Does this mean because you keep asking questions and do the analysis right,
that the interviewer has to give you more information on the slides for you
to go deeper and deeper in analysis?
