感恩节准备带全家去scottsdale，包括保姆。但是保姆的签证已经失效，不知在PHX会
不会有问题。
以前带她飞过几趟Orlando都没问题，但是听说Arizona查illegal比较严，不知有没有
人有经验。

vinylbenzyl chloride 想用aldrich上买的inhibitor remover 柱子除阻聚剂，为啥一
加VBC上边棉花那里就变橙色？20ml进去柱子看上去浸润了，但是一滴vbc也没出来，先

一周干七天, 一天十几个小时, 你就剩下吃饭睡觉的时间了. 谁吃饭和睡觉的时候不自
由.
拿不到TENURE 何来稳定? 即使拿到TENURE, 很多专业也照样走人.
这是骗自己的. 回头一看, 啥都不是, 只留下一些没人读的PAPERS

进门的时候，肯定不想马上就退出去的。呆了几年，对学术界不满，但不想浪费这么
多年的 PhD, 硬着头皮拿tenure.
拿到tenure之后，一般都35-40岁，甚至更老，你不留学术界还想去哪？

还是自由吧。
进了工业界，就对老板负责，老板让你站着你就不能蹲着。faculty一般还是有一定自
由度的。我这一行进了工业界，就是辅助部门，发挥不了中流砥柱的作用，还是呆在学
校里面还算是个人物。

换个方向问，如果要离开学校，哪个会是主要原因？
1. money
2. relevance
3. impact
4. no more teaching
Unless you are in the top 20% at a good place or top 40% in a prestigious
place, you are probably not happy with any of the above.
