It was in Geneva in 1957 that Martha Argrich played
Prokofiev for the first
time. She lived with a roomate in a small stuido in the city
;s red light
district. While she was half asleep in the morning, her
roommate Cucucha was
learning Prokofiev's third. The famous " Spontanuos Sounding
" concerto.
Argerich somehow learned the piece in teh state of
half-consciousness that precedes awakening.
According to Charles Dutioit, who met her at the time.
