ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY:
FreeWheel is hiring a New York-based Operations Engineer who will report to
the Lead Operations Engineer. In this position, you will work with the
Network Operations team responsible for building and supporting a 24x7
global Video Ad serving platform. The ideal candidate for this role will be
self motivated and reliable.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Support global corporate infrastructure with offices in U.S. and China
Advise and implement production infrastructure and network needs
Administer a global Linux and Cisco environment
Responsible for production software release, system task automation, and
management
Monitor all infrastructure components, applications and provide
emergency response
Document system/network design and operation procedures
Available to provide off-hours coverage and willingness to be on call
Travel required10% of the time to domestic and international locations
ABOUT YOU:
Coding with Python and Shell
2 years+ of administering Linux systems
B.S. in Computer Science, Information System, Electrical Engineering
Familiarity with ETL processing work flow
Skilled in system programming and task automation processes
Skilled in Apache, LighHTTPD, BIND9, LDAP/AD, MYSQL, and Infobright DB
administration
Skilled in TCP, NTP, SNMP, ARP, HTTP/HTTPS, SSH, and RSYNC using RH
Linux
