I think she is the short Elena i remember.
A question about Russian names: they put their family names after given
names, right? But why do girls have family names ending with -va and -a (
guys with -ski or -kov). I used to think those -va are given names. Do they
modify family name if the baby is a girl?
Andrei Gavriline & Elena Kryuchkova
Paul Richardson & Olga Rodionova
Slavik Kryklyvyy & Elena Khvorova
Lyubomir Asenov & Veronika Simeonova

hehe, I don't remember much
but ***nova and ***nov are the same family name
so are ***ska and ***ski, with the first one being the female version ( actually I think ***ska is a polish version, in Russian it is more likely to be ***skaya) and the second one being the male version.
Basically female names always end with a 元音字母 and male names always end
with a 辅音字母.
In the case of **ski, in russian, it ends with a 辅音字母 that looks like 'u
' with a hat on top, so although it sounds like 元音 and it is

Very informative. And I guessed right. They have female and male cases even
for names. Thx, Musiqueva and Oldcountrov.

Oldcountry has already answered your question, but I feel he didn't answer
it directly enough. Yes, they modify the last name for the girls. Most of
these last names are Kov, Sov, Nov, Chev (they are in the male form because
the inherited last names are always from the fathers), and they become Kova,
Sova, Nova and Cheva for the baby girls.
Ski is a Polish name, not a Russian name.
