I don't understand why that rumba by sabra and that guy was so well received
by the judges. 几乎没有hip movement，双腿象两根木棍。 Is it just me?
But still, watching the show and breathing the wind from the rain is so
enjoyable tonight :)

The quicksteps don't look like quicksteps. Also, Tony Meredith 啥时候改

that jazz's choreography is beeeeeutiful - hummingbird and flower, with the
Geisha movie music. the choreographer is a genius.

jeez, what happened to melanie? she was on 'what not to wear' just a year
ago, maybe more than one year, but not that long ago, and she still looked
fine. when did she gain soooooooooo much weight? it's painful to watch
knowing what she used to be capable of doing.
and why are female pros/partners referred to as the male pro's assistants???

we desperately need better standard/smooth dancers on the show, that
quickstep and tango were just horrible
liked the krump, hiphop, and jazz

poor pasha! he lost his partner temporarily and had to get a replacement for
tonight's dance - guess who? Melanie LaPatin.
Reminder: Tony Meredith and Melanie LaPatin, former US pro latin champion,
now coach latin pros and run DanceTimeSquare Studio (DTS) in NYC. Pasha and
Anna Garnis (also on this show, dancing contemporary with Daniel tonight)
are pro latin dancers and are resident teachers at DTS. Obviously the four
have close relationship. Pasha and Anna got into Blackpool and UK Open's pro

She has been out of shape for quite a while, I guess - i met both of them at
their studio last year. She loves to host their parties but always sits
there. Occasionally, some teachers working in their studio would invite her
to dance; she would stand up; then i saw her shape. tony is still in good
shape.

are we watching the same show? hehe
I think they did a great job. The hip movement is definitely there, and it
is the type our teacher teach, compact and not overly settled, and their
lines are really natural and amazing, much better than some of those I've
seen in some pre-champ and champ event

So did we watch the same show last night per my other posts? Maybe it is
because ---- I've just started to brush up my rumba, hence very sensitive to
specific technique issues. If these two are not latin dancers, it is hard
to imitate everything in a few days. i agree the lines are beautiful.
至于其他类舞蹈 hiphop, jazz, smooth, broadway，只能凭直觉，看热闹，说不出
什么道道来 :)

I watched this show just from last night - my cable had encountered a
problem. still feels this is a more watchable show than dancing with the
star...
among all from last night, i like the guy who danced hiphop (with anna
garnis).

他们是在努力用hip的，就像你所说的，才几天的时间，怎么可能有technique？所以他
们的hip motion看起来很awkward，不够自然，尤其是dominic，sabra好点。
不过他们有很好的lines，好多造型都不错。
但，有一点，我很不明白。dominic的check step（after fan）为啥做的那么奇怪，根
本不是check，有点像是side step。

Technique is important but not the only thing, if you focus too much on
technique and have no time to enjoy other aspects of the dance, it just
becomes a mechanical process to watch...

that's what happened when you stop doing intense physical activity like you
used to ... but I will have to say: good for her! now she can finally just
pass on her knowledge without the pressure of staying skinny, and can eat
whatever she wants to -- but I could see she was quite uncomfortable on
stage with that figure, and I have to agree it is kind of unpleasant to
watch... but hey, as long as she's happy for the rest of her life, that's
what matters.

there is also exercise and plastic surgery, if you don't do any of those,

totally agree. it has become more obvious that eugene and maria exhibit more
of mechanical process of technique than other top amateurs, hence less
enjoyable to watch.
for me, my level is just too low to take multiple elements at the same time,
so i am focusing on tech for now. and i am seriously lagging behind my new-
year technique plan - brushup 5 dances before july. i am only on the third
dance...
to reinforce your point, the coach at a workshop i attended a few weeks ago
