question for dancedance and paso# Dance - 轻舞飞扬

i just learned several figures that involve pivot, which is very
hard for me. pivot alone is ok, but when followed by other figure
i can never find the right foot position or the balance.
currently, two combinations bothers me most
1. fallaway reverse, slip pivot, double reverse spin
2. quick open reverse, reverse pivot, double reverse spin
i can't make enough amount of turn in pivot, and after the pivot
my foot is too close or too left to my partner, i kind of feel
falling back right. and thus

double reverse spin if you start in the right position, i mean
you face your partner, start with your right foot, you still have difficulty?

so you have difficulty when doing pivot + spin,en. then problem should be in
pivot?
most figures should be no compromise , means if you are going to to that
figure, you have to be ready for that figure,,,means you have to finish the
previous figure completely...

i don't have any teaching experience so this is really a challenge:)
curving the fallaway will make the slip pivot easier. also be more aggressive
on the forward step instead of trying to turn on the spot. man has to be out
of way and help the lady to complete the turn so i don't believe he's perfect
yet:p i can ask hubby on men's trick in this tonight

i don't understand what you meant by 'falling back right'. if it means you're
falling to your right side, then pay attention to your left poise in these
figures

Musique, you said “after the pivot, my foot is too close or too left to my
partner”. I suppose that is your right foot you are talking about. It’s
likely that the misplacing of the right foot is only the manifestation of the
problem, while the ill execution of the preceding movement is the true culprit
.
Can you give a bit more detail about your predicament?
Do you feel your pivoting (left) foot lands short of the optimal position, and
thus your partner, when initiating the subsequent double rev

I am a little confused now. Why then did you say you "after" the pivot?

OK, then you do feel that your left foot lands short of where you'd like it to
be?

The causes could be:
1. Your partner left turned a little late. (Your coach may have compensated
for that when dancing with him.)
2. Your center of mass is too forward. You didn't strech left and back enough
so that your weight is on your right foot long enough before the landing of
your left foot for pivot.
