Never succeeded in the installation of Oracle 8i for LInux, using Redhat 6.2.
NUmerous version of JDK used, 1.1.6, 1.1.8, even 1.2.2
If I use oracle/dba account, the installation program will crash (core dump)
at the last stage; Installation can complete if I use root/root, but cannot
create database instance.
who can help me please!

use dbassit to create your database again. en, use oracle/dba.
