太菜了我, 折腾了好久, 连个GUI还没看到呢...
请大家给推荐一个step by step 的站点.
最好是针对Mandrake 8.1的.

read installaton guide, following the procedure step by step.
BTW, if you have time, i recommend you change os to suse7.2
or suse 7.3 first. Pretty easy and it is oracle ceritified.

check http://www.idevelopment.info -> DBA tips -> install
oracle8i on redhat 7.1, 7.2. I did it on redhat7.2 with
no problem, hope that helps.

thx... just follow their tips (#54) to build Oracle8.1.7 on Mandrake8.1,
but still have this error even I've unset LANG:

[[email protected] Disk1]$ ./runInstaller

is /usr/locl/java where your jdk installed? It seemed to have
a hard time to find java home
