I use a software which can let EXCEL show the real time data from a database.
I can also key in a datum in a cell and let the database change. The cell has
a formula showing the field name and other items related to the database. The
problem is that if I copy a datum from another cell and paste it in this cell,
the formula will be lost. How can I keep the formula when pasting?

I think you can right click on the cell and use Paste Special -> Paste
Formula.
