if you can find a DBA job, the salary should be 70k-80k.

You probably won't land a 70K DBA job by just
passing the certification.
You need at least 3 years of hand-on experience.
Certification with a fresh MS degree will probably
land you a 50K-60K junior DBA job, which is
not too bad these days.

don't count on much about that paper certification.
If you want take the exam, try not use any "Zheng Ti". So that you could
really gain some skill/knowledge at least

I passed Exam1 about more than 1 years ago,
I guess I can still continue to take exam 2,3... right?
Don't know if it is good to be a DBA or developer in the long run?
Now my job kindly half/half.
For a DBA, having more experience is a good thing.
for developer, the language thing changes too fast. Now DotNet is popular,
VB,VC etc may be replaced by .net. Don't know how about the future of JAVA.
Anyway, take the test for me maybe can be a good warm up of the knowledges.

As long as the path is not retired by Oracle, you
can pick it up any time. If Oracle announces to retire
a particular path, you will usually have 6 monthes
to finish the remaining exams.
Be prepared for 24/7 on call for DBA. If your shop stick to Oracle,
you would have better job security than developer, IMHO.
Of course, developer is more fun and versatile. Programming languages
are not that all very different. You usually can pick up other
languages in short time.

hehe, I passed 9i exam1 1-2 days before they starts to require people taking
classes.
I heard this news like Aug 20th, and they strats this like Sept 1st
