Architecture: .Net is a little bit better (personal preference will play a big
role)
Productivity: J2EE is better. J2EE has much more supporting tools, software
floating around.
Future: .Net will be better. This is for sure. .Net will catch up in next 3 -
5 years.

I have heard that .Net gained better productivity now. Actually that's its
selling point.
MS is really good at ad-hoc solutions. :)

THe reason is that .Net only for Microsoft platform, however, Java need cover
a lot.
