In our house we love Backyardigan. What's special about this TV series is
that it is kind of a children's musical with a wide variety of genres of
music like Salsa, 60's Rock, Irish Folk, '40's Big Band, Tango, Hip-Hop,
Western Swing, Cab Calloway-style 20's Jazz, Afro-Pop, and many many others.
The stories are very good too. Some of my favorite are the following
The Legend of the Volcano Sisters
The Swamp Creature (I laugh my head off)
Special Delivery
Horsing Around (funny and beautiful music)
These are the name of the episodes, not the title of the DVD. When you buy
or rent from the library, check the back of the DVD if those are in.
It might take a couple of episodes to warm you up to it. But once you do,
you will like it. There are many Backyardigan fans outthere if you check
youtube. Some are teenagers and others are parents like me. It is very rare
to come by some young children's entertaiment which do not bore the parents
down.

one more thing. If you are from NY, you will smile at Uniqua's cute Brooklyn
's accent. It's mainly spoken by African American, but the way Uniqua talks
gives this charactor a special edge.

我娃2岁半，喜欢看classical baby系列，有个baby poetry的适合大一点的孩子，都是
读的经典英文诗，有的还是歌曲，配的动画挺好看的。
他的小哥们比他先进些，喜欢看米奇妙妙屋，不过人家都是从国内带碟片来的，你为啥

呵呵，我家弟弟是跟着姐姐看的。我们家里也有书，他们俩都喜欢，尤其是看到Oliver
往嘴上涂口红那截，两个人总是一起哈哈大笑。弟弟两岁半。
我觉得每个孩子不一样吧，比如我家弟弟什么都不怕，就怕那种穿着毛绒绒大costume
的卡通人物。我们去迪斯尼玩，他根本不敢看Micky，Minnie之类的跳舞，在Easter捡
蛋的时候看到Bunny，放声大哭，哈哈。

my son was 2 year 7 months when we started this. I must say my daughter and
us enjoyed it more than he did in the very beginning. Like I said, it takes
some time to warm up to it for young kids. Since the English is not childish
(but proper English according to expert), it's might be hard for small kids
to understand, especially those to do not have exposure to english.
However, it's still worth it to watch because some music are so nice and
catchy. My son sings "Tyron the mailman" with his sister all day and begs to
watch it again and again. I was so good at imitating the movement of that
donkey in "horsing around" that my husband asked me to perform such thing to
the whole family. It was lots of fun.
I think those who appreciate music will like it sooner than the rest.
