Hello,
I and my wife had our interview this morning.
The interview was due to prior arrest, I have sent certified court documents
earlier with the application.
The first thing the interviewer asked us was if we had any prior marriages,
then he said he looked at the file and also looked at the court documents,
he did not ask any other documents. Just asked us to show our DL and
Passport.
Next thing he said and I quote “The only thing I need to do now is order
Visas for you both and this morning I got an email saying that the Visa
numbers are exhausted for China, I am not sure about India but will check
and see”
I asked him is it okay if we wait while he orders the Visas and he said, ok
and did some online stuff and requested Visas for both of us and said, the
system says “Pending” so there are no visas available at this time.
Then we asked what do we do next, can we get I-551 stamp, he said since the
Visa is pending you just have to wait for that. In mean time he said that
for any travel etc, you can use your AP, and the worst thing that can happen
is when you enter they will tell you that your GC is approved and let you
in.
He did not take our I-94s or AP. He said we now just have to wait for the
visa availability, and he also confirmed that the VB says that the dates are
current but again as I said “I just got an email this morning about Visas
being Retrograded for China, seems like it is the case for India as well”
Finally he said, your cases is approvable and I wish I could have given you
better news today.
We thanked him and left, he was really nice and polite.
