Recently, I have been asked by friends a lot about whether or not they
should send their kids to the US to complete the high school education.
Maybe they felt that I am a faculty and should know more about it.
Well, what I have seen is that the education system here in the US may not
beat the Chinese system utill at the college or graduate school level. Why
so many of them want to send their young kids to a place so far away from
them so early? I'm at an Engineering school, so my view is biased. So I
would like to hear what other faculties think about it. Thanks!

诺一年后给办绿卡,就是job security可能会比现在这个公司差.ld现在是F1,请问加入
我不幸被layoff,能不能暂时转F2? 转了之后对以后重新申请绿卡有没有影响?

基本上100%会被拒绝。不过转身分pending期间，你的身份不算out of status.还是赶
快找工作吧

这个，我做过调查，因为我姐的两个儿子。
曾想过到我附近的高中读书然后当然是读大学什么的，
这边的一个私立学校还趁在北京办展见了外甥一面，很impressed，一直鼓励来上。
后来觉得不是很理想，毕竟美国高中是四年，学制什么的也不连贯，
上高中的时期也不能完全独立，申请大学和国内读高中再申请也没太大区别。
国内高中的国际班也去咨询了，觉得国际班管理上太松，连这个都决定不上。
最后还是高分上了重点住宿高中，两个礼拜回家一次。
等高中毕业看具体情况再决定，很大可能是申请美国的大学。

请问能具体说说除了50k点和200机票钱，还有什么特殊好处吗？

多谢回复。我弟弟的孩子也有这个打算。大学同学和之前国内同事的孩子，好像都很热
衷在美国读高中的讯息。都被问到几回了。

Free unlimited use of airline lounge in many airports. 还能免费再带人进。要
是一年用个三五十次，你就赚了几千。

AMEX持卡人可以进AA，Delta，US的lounge。能否带人不清楚。
其他的lounge是PriorityPassSelect的福利，带人是要交钱的！只有持卡人免费。

可以带家属进lounge
另外一大好处就是Concierge，相当于$450一年的私人助手，参加特殊活动，进bar餐馆
排队加塞儿，开车导航等等等等。（此外还有包场购物，安排私人客机等等，不过我们
这种苦逼中产没那消费能力。）
跟AMEX传说中的黑卡没太大区别。
虽然chase，FIA都有Concierge，但AMEX的助理服务应该是业内最好的了。
最后，还有一大好处是可以Point Advance 60,000点，对消费多的人可能有用。

concierge基本没用
travel的好处倒是不少。如果travel多，platinum绝对是张好卡

Concierge 没用吗？
我觉得挺有用的，特别是加塞儿（虽然让人觉得有点guity）。。。
像Cheesecake Factory这种不能预约的地方，Concierge都可以把你放到VIP waiting
list，从等1个小时减短到最多等15分钟。
在NYC酒吧新年 Event，人满了不让进，打个电话直接进去。
总之付年费就是享受privilege
另外有些杂事也可以让Concierge做，比如预约换机油等等
