旧单位的工作6月30号终止但是H-1B不会马上终止（这个和单位确认过），新单位的H-
1B申请在6月24号就寄出去了，但是receipt还没有收到。如果receipt上的日期在7月2
号（周一）或者7月2号之后，可以直接拿H-1B receipt上班吗？听说有gap的话必须等H
-1B approved了才能开始新的工作，是这样吗？

Under the portability rule for H-1B change of employer petitions, the H-1B
employee can begin working for the new employer upon receipt of the petition
at USCIS, provided that the H-1B employee was employed in valid H-1B status
at the time of filing of the H-1B transfer petition.
这是我之前问律师给的回复，你可以再跟你的新公司律师确认下得到他们的confirm

非常感谢。不知道“at the time of filing of the H-1B transfer petition”怎么
理解，是指的USCIS收到mail的时间吗？新单位的HR说让我收到receipt notice之前不
要从旧单位辞职，说有可能导致H1B被拒。不知道他们为什么没有考虑有60天的grace
period。
