well..Gallager code is also called Low Density Parity Check code.
It also uses iterative decoding strategy, like Turbo code.
Turbo codes is very hot in the past few years.
It has a lot of application field in wireless system.
But now people found LDPC codes beat Turbo codes.
So the state-of-the-art code is LDPC codes:)
