For guys who love information theory, we love shannon so much because it is
him who layed out the foundation for this subject. But for guys in other areas
of EE, they also have their choices of favorite researchers. I don't think it
is right to put shannon in a superior position over everybody's mind.
Information theory will be introduced to this world, no matter if shannon has
done his job or not. (I think several Russian mathematicians had beared the
main ideas of shannon theory earlier than s
