I think so, It seems that many companies are hiring people to do reliability
test.

agree. many companies are recruiting, especially for NBTI and high-k
reliability test.
But this is not the core competence of IC manufacturers. Basically they just
need you to come out ways to qualify their processes.
I am leaving the reliability community after 3 years of my phd work in it...

So where you guys go? Circuit design?
My background is in optoelectronics, semiconductor physics, and some
electronics. The industry sector for optoelectronics is still small. I want
to have some experience in Si devices and processing first. Should I later
make a switch to circuit design, or solar cells? Thanks!
