i am not sure if i understand your question clearly. anyway, the following
is some difference between US and China residential 3-phase voltage:
Frequency: 60Hz vs. 50Hz
line-to-line voltage rms: 208VAC vs. 380VAC
Note, for some appliances, you will see three prongs from the outlet plug.
But they might not be three-phase power since they are actually single phase
supply with opposite phases. For example, phase a, neutral, and another
phase a out of 180 degrees. in this way, the voltage betw

for residential use... most of them are single phase
e.g. 110V v.s. 220v
strangly, i found some 208vac outlet in our library reading desk...
which requires special power cord...

美国的频率是60HZ,这就无须多言.
居民用电大多是一种叫Split Phase(常常被错误的简称为两相电),如poppe所言,+120,0
,-120,所以你可以有120V(110V)或240V.
至于208V,那时因为在工业商业用电,有时用通常说的abc三相电,208是线电压=120相电
压*sqrt(3).

赞这条,说的对,他们其实很多也是240v,但3条线,line to line 是240v, line to
neutral是120v。
三相208v,每单相是120v。
三相480v。每相是277v。
