This position is responsible for maintaining records of financial
transactions by establishing accounts and posting transactions; collections
and all A/R and A/P transactions; understanding of accounting and billing
procedures. Assists with monthly closings and account analysis, and supports
the Senior Accountant in carrying out the responsibilities of the finance
department.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Responsible for recording financial transactions
• Recording sales invoices, vendor bills, credit card charges, etc.
• Recording sales receipts and deposit incoming cash and checks
• Recording wire, ACH and credit card payments
• Checking customers’ credit applications to establish terms
• Filing paper records to validating electronic data
• Generates 1099's and W-2's for clients.
• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as
needed
• Depends on performance, other tasks will be assigned such as
account reconciliation and help on period-end closing, etc.
• Other duties as requested from time-to-time by the Senior
Accountant or the CFO
Personal Attributes and other Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent
• Minimum of 1 year accounting or bookkeeping experience including
accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and financial reports
• Knowledge of Sage X3 and/or other ERP system preferred
• Must demonstrate strong knowledge in Microsoft Excel and Word
• Fine attention to detail and accuracy
• Knowledge of accounting principles and practices, and finance
principles
• Ability to perform several tasks concurrently with ease and
professionalism
