It hires the person for full time responsibilities, just without giving him headcount and the benefits. Unless you negotiate very hard and have many other strong offers, IBM's pay is not competitive. It usually is just base salary and nothing else. IBM is one company living in the 80s, still thinking people would go there just becaus: e of the IBM name . Oh come on, nowadays only Apple can play that card. IBM who? Who cares. It just won't wake up.

EDA is a joke. 没有几个软件能卖几十万刀,而且卖这么贵的软件也卖不出几个license 现在eda公司主要的盈利模式是IP royalty 芯片都在贱卖,royalty能赚多少呢? chip公司没肉吃,eda难得有汤喝

Embedded system is more suitable for CE than EE. Besides software skills, it requires architecture & OS knowledge as well. So depends on what kind of EE you were, the learning curve can be steeper than other CS areas like app development.

apple base真不差。。。 据说google的标准fresh master package是105k+股票,apple直接给120k加股票, apple股票给的不比google少 不过比这有什么用,我真不觉得这10k-30k的钱能make any difference,做什么才是最 重要的,人生是个马拉松,做什么才决定长期的输赢
