IC has been fairly stable for quite some time. It is a tried and true
industry. It will never be able to boom like crazy again, but most likely it
will be around for quite a long time. The general trend is that big
companies will consolidate and not many startups can emerge, so in the
future positions will become fewer, but as companies merge and only several
big guys are left, profit margin will go up a bit so probably the people who
have survived will be rewarded a little bit more, if we believe that
corporations are not all evil.
Not sure about wireless networking. There are companies like Cisco and there
are companies like Qualcomm, both of which can be related to wireless
networking. My impression is that they are companies that are doing well and
pay well, but people in the wireless networking research area don't
necessarily match the skill sets they are looking for.

最近工作忙，老出差，有时候上网都不方便。
不过现在的市场肯定应该以 cash 为主，另外我还是很看好黄金长期的。
欧洲 1T 砸下去都没能挽救市场，现在已经不知道该怎么办好了，一些乱其八糟
的政策出来，只能让市场越来越乱。volatility 会很大，总体至少中期应该是
向下了。

中国从华为开始，会有一些大公司做一部分IC工作，就像Samsung, Toshiba这样。但是IC本身不属于很容易来钱的领域，公司入行成本高，产品白菜价，应该不会出现专门做IC做很大的公司。毕竟在private sector, 跟social network这些比起来IC融资难，见效慢。在public sector, 政府现在大力投钱搞生物和新能源这些中国完全可以领先的领域。IC中国以前做过一些项目，对国家有战略意义的技术应该都基本知道是怎么回事了, 抢市场卖钱这个国家也不感兴趣，现在IC不能算是重点发展对象。
