十多年前换上神经衰弱。当时是头痛，觉得头紧绷，有些depression。也没有找到什么
好方法治疗，就这样一直拖到现在。
现在还是长期慢性头痛。特别是一按太阳穴，有刺痛感。头重，容易疲乏，记忆力差。
去看了神经科医生，做了核磁共振，没发现有什么问题。也去看了精神科医生，给我开
些抗抑郁的药。不敢吃，怕吃坏脑子。
请问我该怎么治疗这个慢性头痛，头晕的问题？

情况是这样的，postdoc, 我现在正在申请F-1 转J1 身份，材料递交一个月了，网上
显示还是initial review. 学校ISO的人现在又搞明白我们学校在E-verify system 里
面，可以申请OPT extension.
因为J-1以后要waiver，我想要OPT extension. 请问可以取消一个月前的 J-1 申请，
转为重新申请 OPT extension 吗？这样会有什么害处吗？需要怎么做？

you need to get a real diagnosis of your condition and also respect the
physician's recommendations. if you have concerns, you need to tell the
physician instead of ignoring his/her opinions.

Lol, do not be so criticizing :) Two different systems, each has pros and
cons. We practicing medicine in the US should not make us feel superior to
our peers in China. I respect them, they are dealing with a much more
difficult patient population. No offense, just want to remind no matter what
we should have the modesty.

From what you described, it sounds like tension headache in western medicine
. Even tension headache is not an accurate diagnosis by lmh's standard (lack
of understanding what's really going on but doctors have to give it a name
for many purposes including coding purpose) (sorry, lmh, no offense :( ).
As for treatment, no clinical trials have shown any treatment is really
effective. But you can try ibuprofen from over the counter, and some other
prescription medications. But as for effectiveness, no one can guranttee.
You can also try yoga, or other psychotherapy.

As for depression, unless you get the diagnosis from a REAL and EXCELLENT
psychiatrist, do not start anti-depressants. It does have side effects. The
problem is in the US, anti-depressants are abused and overused by patients.
In China, it's underused due to the fear of side effects.

let me be blunt. you have no clue what you are talking about. you cannot
even differentiate between symptom description and disease entities. "
tension-type headache" can be used as a symptom description and sometimes as
a disease entity. even used as a symptom description, it doesn't fully
encompass his/her described symptoms.
you are in a euphoria that your vague impression about medicine is much
superior than other people's opinion on specific diseases.
