I got all the equipment for my LED DIY.
here I put it together:
a 50W LED assembly, a big (16inch x 6 inch x 1 inch ) heat sink.
the 50W power supply to give 30v output (LED is 5 parallel lines of 10 LED
each)
it is quite bright, but I think roughly the same as a 100W equivalent CFL.
the main issue is heat, even with such a big heat sink, the temperature goes
so high that I can barely touch it with my hands. I estimate it to be at
least 70degrees celcius.
I tried to lookup cheap heat sink options on ebay, but not many.
particularly I want to fit the heat sink in a ceiling light, so should be
less than 200mmx200mmx 50mm
any ideas on how much heat a passive aluminum heatsink can dissipate?
