JOB DESCRIPTION
Electronic Design Engineer
Level: 3+ years’ experience in analog and digital circuit design.
Terms: contract to hire (12 month)
SUMMARY:
We are looking for an enthusiastic Engineer who is passionate about product
development. The candidate will be working closely with scientists creating
the next generation sensing technologies. The candidate will collaborate
with a multi-functional team to build cutting edge opto-electronic chemical
sensor products. The candidate will be part of a fast paced work environment
with short deadlines. The candidate will have key involvement in the
product lifecycle from concept to commercialization. The candidate will have
opportunities to grow tremendously in this position professionally.
The candidate should be a smart thinker and be able to work independently
with minimal supervision. The candidate is required to participate in
brainstorming sessions with a multi discipline team to understand the
product requirements. The candidate is expected to conceptualize final
product, create product specifications, design electronic circuits and
develop sensor instrumentation. The candidate will also design PCB
schematics and packaging for the product. The candidate will closely work
with consultants, vendors and assembly houses overseeing the transition of
design to prototypes and demonstrate proof-of-concept. The candidate is
expected to work to a schedule and possess a go-getter attitude.
REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:
● Possess strong analog and digital circuit design skills
● Sound knowledge of transistors, amplifiers, energy conversion circuits,
microcontrollers, digital logic devices.
● Experience with electronic simulation tools such as Multisim, SPICE.
● Possess excellent hardware testing and debugging skills.
● Previous experience with PCB schematic and board layout design is a must.
(OrCAD, EAGLE, Protel, etc)
● Should possess detailed analysis skills and discretion in component
selection keeping in mind product requirements.
● Must be a team player with good analytical thinking and problem solving
skills.
● Able to quickly design lab test instrumentation using off the shelf
components for concept evaluation.
● Maintain complete technical documentation of the design work performed.
● Capable of working with consultants and ensure timely deliverables.
● Fundamental knowledge of tools such as Labview, MATLAB
● Proficient with firmware programming such as assembly code, C.
● Working knowledge of sampling, signal processing required.
● Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite.
DESIRED SKILLS
● Knowledge of opto-electronic chemical sensing, a plus.
● Working knowledge of algorithm development desired.
● Knowledge of CAD software like Solidworks desired.
● Interest in product design/ industrial design, a plus.
● Working knowledge of emulators and debuggers desired.
● Product aesthetics in design will be a value addition.
