8 号面试，面试后自己有个方面感觉不好，见下。不过 18 号 committee chair 发
email 说就我了，已经投票通过并且上报 VPAA 等待批准，这个学校因为很小，院长差
不多就相当于系主任，由副校长批准由副校长打电话通知正式 offer，狂喜后以为很快
就来了，还没有，:-( 。
正常的手续难道要办这么久？不就是查有没有犯罪记录和确认是否可以工作嘛（我有卡
，面试时也添了 I9 给了复印件）。LD 的 offer 需要回复，都等急了，:-( 。

大家好，我确定是resident alien, 老婆来美国也3年半多（不包括今年4个月）,f2转
了f1。我现在想file jointly，我打算也把她算成resident alien，应该可以吧。要是
这样的话，我们是不是可以在学费上返回一些钱？填8863表？

常常听到人家说，诶，妹子啊，你是个姑凉，好好的做自己，上个闲班，能养活自己就
好啦。干嘛这样拼啊，那么努力还不如嫁个好人家呢。我只能一笑，现在连解释都懒得
解释了。你以为我想啊，我傻啊，放着舒服的日子不过这么折腾自己。这不是有难处谁
愿意啊。我是个姑凉不错，姑凉就不能挣钱养家了吗，还有自己不努力还想指望嫁个好
人家，谁家娶一个寄生虫回去。
我家家境不能说一般，其实是在中下水平的，爸妈从小把我养到大已经很不容易了，还
要送我念大学。家里面又有一个年龄相差有点大，正在叛逆期的弟弟，父母身体不好，
生活真的过得很紧吧。好不容易我大学读完了，好不容易在国外找了份不错的工作。但
这只是针对养活我自己而言。事实上我还要照顾家里，爸妈把我养大容易吗，现在年龄
大了，也不如以前身体好了，没啥文化水平的他们基本上没有其他经济收入，弟弟也还
在念书全家正是需要钱的时候。我不拼，不努力，怎么行。很多时候我不想说，一是因
为说了也不鞥帮我解决什么，二是因为即使我是个女生也有自己超强的自尊心，我坚信
，我努力点拼一点，日子就会越来越好的。

An immediate Senior EE opening.
To manage and participate in the design, test, and support of electrical,
electronic, components and control sub systems for complex vacuum equipment
used in data storage and optical coating industries.
Responsibilities:
* Program management of controls and electronics subsystems for the
product line
* System Engineering Management of EE and Controls system for Ion Beam
Deposition Systems
* Work with product line manager to define CIP and technology roadmaps
for controls
* Implement customer upgrades and customization as required
* Make decision on off-the-shelf versus custom controls solutions
strategy
* Manage outsourced engineering development
* Manage contract manufacturers
* Manage regulatory certification activities such as CE, UL testing and
compliance
* Interact with field support on controls related issues
* Prepare program status on a regular basis and report to the director
of engineering
* Responsible for troubleshooting and debugging in collaboration with
design engineering team
Qualifications
• Project, program management experience required
• Experience with: PCB design and layout, FPGA, ASIC, Firmware,
CPLD, and/or other programmable logic design required
• Must be able to write/review specifications with engineering and
manufacturing teams
• Must be able to troubleshoot complex electronics control systems
• Strong analytical skills
• Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Familiar with Analog and Digital circuit design and testing
• Familiar with RF power a plus
• Knowledge of wide range of electrical components is required
• Experience with motion control systems a plus
• Experience with compliance CE, UL testing a plus
• Experience with vacuum capital equipment a plus

感觉和我LD的好类似，也是17号对方学校写信要推荐信上报到Dean和VPAA，问实验室需
要的设备，需要的实验空间等等，还提到possible offer we will make。很高兴啊，
也以为offer马上就要来了，可以等啊等，每天都在煎熬中，就是啥消息都没有。
LZ至少人家明确说要你了，可我LD的case是种种迹象表明就是他了，但没明说，更是揪心。正好大家也分析下，这应该是offer差不多到手了吧。

别着急，说了给你的就会给你。有个学校我家LD等了一个多月，最后还是HR那边急着要
给办H1B给先打电话说看到我LD的名字，问我LD转身份的一些事情我们才知道offer
process到什么地方了。有的学校就是慢，慢慢等，是你的肯定不会跑掉。

yes, if the I-140 sponsor will help you (say they will hire you back) when
you can file I-485.

what if the new job is a different title? (the old job is under EB3 and
pending 485 for more than 1 yr)

If it is a different company, you will have to refile everything, with the
old priority date. The recapture of the PD from a previous filing has
nothing to do with its category, i.e., EB2 or EB3.
