just out of curiousity, what's the exact rule of the game?
Can you see how much other people individually invest in public account?
can you talk to other people and make deals?

This is an interesting perspective. But if Buchanan is right, then people
would respond to a (unrobust) social theory that attempt to describe their
behavior. In other words, Buchanan thinks there is freedom of choice on
agents'part. A robust social science theory is one that cannot be caught up
with by the agents that the theory attempts to describe.

In addition, philosophers seem to agree that freedom does not mean
lawlessness. For example, for Locke, freedom of nature still operates within
the boundary of the law of nature. For Kant, to be free is to follow our
rational principles (morality, or categorical imperatives), rather than our
desires.
