我刚来美国，很多都不懂，周围也没见到什么学education的人，打算申请明年fall，
能不能请有经验的在专业选择上给点建议啊。我在国内本科是英语教育，教过三年的高
中英语，因为工作的高中不错，上课是全英文，所以英语的听说还不错，writing从G,T
的成绩上看还好，很喜欢当老师，工作了三年虽然很辛苦但是很enjoy，我这种背景什
么方向适合啊？感觉应该是TEOSL/TEOFL 之类的吧，不过这样的专业毕业后在这边好找
工作吗？也有人建议我学什么education leadership, counseling之类的，还有人说什
么math education，这些我都不知道我这种背景的能不能学，就要开始申请了，大家给
点建议啊。对了，我在texas，打算念个master。谢啊～

You might wanna try applying for a teaching job directly, with a J-1 visa.
In schools with a high demand, they hire international teachers with a
teaching certificate and experience from their own countries.
ESL/ELL is a great major, but the job market could be narrow if you don't
have a green card. Special Educatiom, oh well, is always hot, but you have
to have a big heart and patience--not only for the kids, but also for the
tedious paperwork. Math Education wouldn't be too hard, in fact, beca

Laukeen, could you, or some experienced teachers, tell me how to find a
education-related job? I only have a bachelor's degree in Int'l Business.
I am applying for ESL major now. Since what I am doing now has nothing to do
with this major, I wanna quit and find a more relevant one in the near
future.
BTW, can you share with us some of your insights about the ESL teaching
market? Pulic school? Community college? Or...? which is better?

基本上说，有了绿卡或者公民身份的人找教师工作都不难，但是没人希望去差的学校，
所以拿到一些MASTER学位能够帮助你去更好的学校。
ESL，像我以前所说的，在大城市有市场，但是基本上美国人都是先有了一个teaching
license再去念ESL，就是一个锦上添花的学位，能为他们带来多几千块的额外年薪。
