现在到处都是各种公司裁员的消息。我们学校图书馆都裁了不少人。
很多教育预算都被削减了。不知道对高中招新教师有多大影响
会不会也会freeze？

OPENINGS还是会有的 关键是现在经济不好 好多本来打算转行或者退休的教师都不走了
这尤其对中西部的州影响很大
大城市和偏远地区的公立学校可能相对影响较小。

因为和老公两地，决定明年辞职。
现在这个样子，一直在想，我辞了工作之后，还能不能在老公那里找到工作。

目前到是没听到什么削减预算的风声,学校一般都什么时候决定下一年的编制呀?

I heard from someone at state department of education that we probably won't
have an increase in salary next year due to the deficit, but no need to
worry if you're looking for positions in special ed (especially in needy
areas).

I am in a small school about 1200 students。 We will cut 17 full time
position next year.

Things will be tight this coming school year. Our school district has closed
some schools and combined some schools, laid off many teaching positions
and supporting staff. No salary increase for sure. Just keep our fingers
crossed for our jobs.

I just heard the same person saying that they're receiving more funding in
special education (state-wide from federal) than last year. On the other
hand, a teacher from a public school in Maryland said that their county is
closing dozens of schools and about 900 teachers will not be back next year
(including the ones who are retiring and ones who resign). It sounds kind of
scary.
