These are only tools.
You can consider pure research positions in big corps, but there are only a
few.
For applications, your background in other areas is important. If you want
get into a bank, where you got your bachelor degree is very important.
Graduates from Peking Univ. and Tsing Hua Univ. have considerable higher
chances. If you want investment banking, you also need lvy brand for your Ph
.D.
