i have never spoken of the china-japan relationship to the americans.
neither have i ever discussed the dam and pollution issues with them.
speaking of a dam, i will forward you a very funny email that i received a

whenever i stumble into a conversation of this nature, i always remind
myself to be rational instead of emotional, present with clear reasons
and facts; it is pretty hard to do.

when talking China-Japan relationship, they kept silent and said
'Japan had a war with America, but now it develope good relation
with U.S.'
For other chinese issue such as dam or pollution, they were just curious
and suprised at how many people in china and how level they are living.
They don't know China. They don't want to know it also. But they like
Japan. Most of American don't like China.
