For Lwzhi's question:
Just my personal experiences, u can also ask SR to add his
suggestion, he is really an experienced driver.
1. Plan your trip earlier, and reserve your motel in advance.
( You can ask AAA for help about the travle route and
schedule if you r the member )
2. Driving overnight:
Do NOT look directly into the coming vehicle's head light.
Use Highlight, not just normal light when there are not
too many cars on the way. otherwise, just use the normal
light to fo

Driving long distance isn't that horrible. Just force yourself
to rest every three hours, and eat & drink at regular interval.
Feel free to stop at any viewpoint to refresh yourself. Don't
make yourself a tight schedule. That's all. Driving alone is
kind of fun.

xixi, fencer is a big driver yah :-)

Never forget the necessary discounts from your credit cards or
various club memberships. sometimes it will save you a lot.
(As i remembered, i waived the cost of living in my hotel for
two nights in Florida, Orlando, last Christmas :-)
Hmm, in more desolate place, you'd better use high-beam to
save your visions. You'll get more easily weared after a long
time using low-beam.
always remember to relax yourself during long-distance driving :-)

This is not true for in-experienced drivers. Let him keep his mind
on the road rather then thinking of your words. If someone is sitting
besides you, tell him/her not to make sudden sound or directions.
This is very dangerous.

The nice thing is that you can stop whenever you feel the need and
enjoy the scene. Enjoy without any pressure.

Yeah, and sometimes, when i drive to some rural places with farms,
i can enjoy the stop and chat with the farmers and sometimes i can
even buy some really cool groceries that can hardly be found in
grocery stores in my nearby cities.

Night driving is also fun. I usually drive very slow, not because of
the road condition. Just want to feel the hums, the sound of tires
running on the road. Other than that, all are silent. Sometimes you
can hear sound of gusts, or thunders far away over the mountains,
melodies of nature.

I like the 'sound of silence' during the night or even midnight driving,
which can hardly be heard or narrated, but ratherly be felt and immersed
within :-)
The sound of wind shaking the trees gently, hummings of tires slowly
running on small roads, breaking the silence and waking up some
beings :-) When the sky is clear, bathing in the milky and blurred
rays of moon and stars. Stop somewhere on a grassland on the mountain
(many in north jersey), take in the fresh air with smell of

Driving is fun when you wake from a sleep in the middle of a night,
looking at the passing cars on the highway. You know you could get up
and continued your journey at any time. But you don't. You luxurily
fall back into sleep until some early birds wake you up. Then you
go on your trip for a fresh new day.

Driving is also fun when you step on the ground, stretch your body, and
make a deep breath. Little girls are playing with their parents in the
grass field. Old couples are offering free coffee and cookies. There are
lines in front of the restrooms. Hehe, it's wonderful life. :)

remember:
it is illegal to use hight beam if you are within 500 feet of
an approaching vehicle.

This is true, but you can also use NetCenter or Yahoo to
make reservations, use www.mapquest.com to find to best
route of your travel.
Generally, use highlight only when there are very few cars.
It is impolite and illegal to use high beam all the way. Also,
if there are other cars, it is not necessary to use high beam.
