Just walked out of the SUPER 8 IMAX showing feeling rather torned about
the film. Honestly, there were much to like about it. The acting, special
effects, sound and cinematography were all blockbuster class, but there
were something crucial missing, which made it felt like reading a great
novel with half of pages ripped out.
The film was confused with which direction it wanted to take. I wasn't
sure if it was trying to repeat an epic story to the likes of "ET" or
perhaps end up mimicking the tried and true horror monster action flick. I
guess in the end, it just became another over-hyped "Cloverfield" with a
bigger budget.
