想入一个普通式样的，Togo皮。
准备去Madison的旗舰店看一下，刚才打电话过去询问，5pm刚关门了。
请问哪位mm知道现在订购的流程如何？
还有，听说现在不用waitinglist了，是真的吗？

开始郁闷了。不想乱花钱啊，刚工作没几个月。。。
读书的时候倒是在旗舰店买过一个帆布+牛皮的比较便宜的包，买完了就客客气气地走
人了。从来不会多搭讪阿！
有没有别的招阿，姐妹们~~

那么多，我斗不过啊。。。
我觉得birkin / kelly 很耐看，这两年是越看越好看了

哈哈，不至于，像您这样高智商，高学历的女性，怎么可能买不起，只是想不想买的问
题。
可能你觉得不好看吧，我以前也不敢冒birkin,只是突然间喜欢上了。
也没有很贵，和Chanel 相比，普通款式birkin也就贵2，3倍。主要看你喜欢什么了。
想自己奖励自己一下，呵呵。
BTW,注意你很久了，难得的聪明漂亮又好脾气

同问阿，我现在自给自足，本来就是想省掉一些买杂七杂八包的钱，来买一个birkin.

Peekaboo也要3，4千刀哇！
买完了，还要从现在开始花钱哄Hermes SA 一年，这个开销很大滴亚。
想买个Birkin真不容易。

Birkin是挺好的，做工精良，而且确实能装东西。对包，我真的不懂。大多数跟包有关
的贴，我也确实提不出意见
你的问题，可能有两种办法。第一是先买点小东西，常去混脸熟陶瓷。
第二，是不是可以找有渠道的老buyer?

谢谢公主，看来现在众口一词，网上老美论坛也说是要和SA混熟。
哎，我比较内向，连SA都不好意思搭讪，哪里去找什么老buyer阿

Berkin is too heavy for a shopping bag. Man, you need to have a very strong
arm.
I only carried my Black 35 twice for shopping. It was killing me.

waiting list is such a lie...
Store managers dictates (nowadays) who gets birkin/kellys.
She will review the customers' purchasing history, and reward the most loyal
(and stylish she thinks) with birkin/kelly/constance bags.
If it is your first time, they will not tell you anything about the stock of
birkin/kelly via phone. You have to go into the store by person, and
nowadays it is 99.99% you can not find a birkin just by walking into a store
(unlike a few years ago you can just go into a store and grab one, maybe
not the best color, but you can grab one)
Now, let's talk about who/how to get the birkins.
If one only buys bags/belts and nothing else, chances are that she will
never gets a birkin in this store(especially smaller ones).
If one not only buys bags, but also clothing/scarves/china/decoration stuff/
bracelets/shoes/different kind of bags like porchette (which in my opinion
is a GEM for evenings with right colors!) and Lindy, more than likely
whenever there is shipment, she will first get noticed if there is birkin/
kelly arrived or not.
Unfortunately for you, buying birkin is much harder now than before. I
remembered in 2009 I bought like 6 for my LD in like a month (yes, rouge
garrance with GHW!!!). Also many popular colors are long gone (like RG,
Fuschia).
You can try the stores in China. They have something like if you spend 200K
RMB(birkin/kelly excluded), they will put you on a reserve list and usually
they mean it.
Of course, you can always find some other sources besides the Hermes
boutiques, with risks.
There is so much more to talk about. I learned a lot form my pucharsing
stuff for my LD and it is fun.

nope, you will pay when they arrive. sales will call you once your item will
arrive. customer order bags will have different MARK then store-ordered
usual bags.
you need to tell what you want so the SA can place the order for you to the
manager.
including style/size/skin/color/hardware etc.

well, back in 2009 or before, it was kind of easy to purchase birkin. You
don't need to buy a lot of stuff, in fact you can just walk in.
but it is a different story nowadays.
Plus, usually one buys birkin to fit her outlook, not the otherway around.
If sa thinks it fits your outlook really well, she will even recommend it to
you

one more tip. Go to Tokyo to buy birkin. It is a bit more expensive than US,
but they have more stock in store (i don't know why)
Last time I was there on a business trip, I saw they have pretty good
stock there (with many crocs and allegators)

Madison and Wall street had plenty in and before 2009, everytime you walked
in, there were some birkins. Probably NOT on the shelf (usually there was
one with croc ~V skin and dimonds)
but they DEFINITELY had them in the back (stock room)
Everytime my LD asked, the SA would produce her some birkins from the stock
room ...
In 2008/2009 when economy was bad, there was even a lot of cancelled customer-
ordered birkins that you can buy. (all of those with special mark on it)
And then it suddenly became more affordable for Chinese customers because of
the govenment so-called "Stimulus" (i.e. money printing) in 2008/2009, and
Boom! all gone!
Now ever worse, housing market and A stock are artificially capped by
Govenment, so people can only spend money on food, metal and luxury goods ...
PLUS the labor and resource (animal skins and skin-dye included) cost hiked
like 200% in some regions in a few years to limit the capability of Hermes
to produce more pieces ...
There used to be a way to buy birkins easily, my LD told me that whenever
there was a new Hermes store open, there could be 10s of birkins for that
store on opening day.
Now? not so lucky. We went to the Short Hills store's opening cocktail
ceremony the other day, and to the store opening the 2nd day.
You know what there were only two Birkins 35 new pink SHW and 35 black GHW (
which is in the back room). They got sold to two cute Asian ladies in like 5
seconds because they were the first and second in line at 8AM ...

i am just trying to make some suggestions to LZ on how to get her first
birkin. I see many replies but no real-meaning suggestion on how to purchase
... So i give several suggestions.
And hey, if you knows, try share it. otherwise it means nothing to LZ.
0. know a manager so she can allocate stuff to you. My LD knows an SA in BG who studied together in the same class of the Madison manager.
1. buy stuff from a nice SA, sometimes you will just get luck.
2. go to Tokyo stores.
3. go to a new store's opening ceremoney.
4. try non-bouqitue methods, they have risks tough. (in NYC/London Bond
street/HK Beijing "Milan Zhan") there were some new pieces sell at a premium.
i can't type chinese becuase there is no chinese input isntalled on my work
laptop and i don't have admin-right to get it installed, (but they somehow
allows me to post on forums

I am not trying to pretend that I know anything about luxury goods. I am just a man who likes to buy stuff for my wife and happens to advise LZ a bit. That is all.

亚洲SA会有好点么？去年我跟一个白女SA打过几个月交道，在她手上也买了不少丝巾和香水之类的小东西，可是她说黑35实在太多人想要了，我一度想过要不要买钱包让她高兴高兴，可是也没见到我喜欢的颜色。。。结果去年冬天回国的时候家里失窃，一盒子Hermes围巾都被端走了，只剩两条我随身戴着回国用的，让我热情大受打击，今年都没进过Hermes店了。

why not try smaller boutiques, like the ones in the Boston.
There is a SA named Frank there is very helpful and not political. He has
good stuff from time to time. Also the KOP one.

Wall streets' SA tends to be very political (all senior SAs are white)
And plus it has much fewer stock than Madison's.
Also there is an African American SA (Lincoln) in Madison which is very nice
. He is not very political (i.e. less bullshit) compared to other white SAs,
and very polite.
Also my experience is that somehow if you are a guy, you can get birkin
easier than ladies. I don't know why, so ask your husband to help you. Also
white SAs are the worst to customers (on average), Asian SAs (except that
Jap floor manager in Madison) and AA SAs are bett.
Asian is good to asian. AA are dumber, and so in a way, they are less likely
to follow bouqiue policies etc and can just blindly hand you a GEM
sometimes.

As I said, the quickest way to score a birkin with good color nowadays is to:
Goto a reputational re-seller (e.g. at HK/Beijing's Milan Station).
They do have good reputation so you can trust them (but make sure to confirm with them it is not a used bag). You need to pay a hefty premium though.
Pros:
- You don't need luck
- You don't need time to establish relationship with the store or SA by pretending the appreciation of the brand's stuff (e.g. I hate their clothing on Asian ladies)
- In fact you don't need to know anyone
Cons:
- premium
- some level of risk if you don't know birkin bag well (i.e. they may trick you with a used bag)
I never did buy anything from Milan Station, so take this particular
suggestion with a pinch of salt.

all things set aside (like brand management, cost surge, customers screening, quality insurance, selling strategy)
The most important truth is that SA do not get commission alone when she/he sells a birking/kelly bag. The commission will be shared among the floor SAs for any sold birkin/kelly.
So she/he has no intention to sell you a b or k only becuase he/she has it. She/he want to make sure that you will come back to buy other pieces so she/he can earn commissions ALONE from your purchase. (like a Lindy bag) And I am pretty sure the SAs does not give a crap about things like "brand management".
But then again, SA should not dictates where birkin goes because she will defintely sell only to the clients that can benefit she/he. This could be unfair to other SAs or customers.
So that is why only the bouqitue Managers can dictate which SA get what to which client, solely based on her perception of the clients (she/he usually stands on the floor and is specially trained to screen customers based on their behavior, dressing, purchasing history, and dialogue, so she/he has a better idea which client could better benefit the brand itself)

我听说的ws一点的方法就是在这个店马讨好一个sales，买些围巾啊，小东西，要是喜
欢当然就留下了，不喜欢就去另外一个店退掉，这样培养起一两个sales，就可以买了

袋最高价。拍卖行的人原本预计卖到8万，他们都难以相信会以20多万的价格成交。新
闻下面有人回帖说爱马仕的市场营销做的很不错，肯定是自己的公司拍回去的。当然有
的论坛也说即使20万也算是好deal。我是不懂的。

以前也有很多说什么古玉器拍卖竞出天价什么的，但是那是不可复制的东西，像这种手
包你再照着做一个就是了。。。。
